Brown Waxed Cotton Stable Jacket

This is an old Drake’s favourite, brought back with a few updates courtesy of some jackets that have come along since, such as our Wader Jacket and Coverall.

The original idea remains much the same, borrowing a few good ideas from field jackets, country coats and old workwear without getting too hung up on any of them. It’s made from substantial 11.9oz waxed cotton from Scotland, where wet weather is hardly a novelty, with a generous fit and slightly longer length that works equally well over a chunky jumper or a bit of tailoring.

A corduroy collar, throat latch, large patch pockets and two-way zip keep the practical character intact, while the box-quilted cotton lining adds a little warmth inside. We’ve also added snaps inside the front so our Casentino Vest can be attached as a liner when the weather gets properly unpleasant.

A few improvements, then, but essentially the same jacket we liked in the first place.
