visit: A Mechanised Thought, Amba Sayal-Bennett, indigo+madder Gallery
Independent Deptford gallery indigo+madder present a mixed media body of new works from London-based artist Amba Sayal-Bennett, the first UK solo excursion for the Royal College of Art student. A Mechanised Thought includes a series of three-dimensional metal sculptures referencing industrial machinery; precise laser cut-outs, coated surfaces and folded, bended and welded panels are combined with organic parts, to produce a hybridised aesthetic. Alongside these pieces, beautiful, colour-rich drawings are presented as decorative blueprints, borrowing "the language of design, diagrammatics, architecture, and the language of plans/things that are yet to come." The exhibition launches both online and in-person 16 October.
