London. A day in the life. From the madness of a morning tube rush hour to the cool satisfaction of an after work ice cream, these are clothes for pleasure and play, and for the pleasure of business. Some relaxed tailoring and sophisticated everyday classics. A wardrobe for the city and every occasion it might throw at you.
The Drake’s story began in the East End of London almost fifty years ago, in the heart of the old garment district. And even though we’ve spread our wings across the world since then, we’ve always been proud of those roots, and honoured to call the city home. As we approach half a century in the capital, this Autumn we wanted to toast the enduring love we have for our hometown and everything that makes it special.
So this is a celebration of all the things in the city that inspire us everyday; the food, the people, the landscape and landmarks, the parks and our pets. Shot over those balmy days as summer gives way to autumn, we gathered friends and colleagues and all kinds of people we find inspiring, to create a portrait of a London we love.
There’s our friend Kentaro, visiting from Tokyo and treating us to lunch at St John; Sam, from our Canal Street store, in town for a few days and eager to see just how big Big Ben is; Marcello, shucking oysters in his restaurant as he prepares for service; Tomo, causing a commotion through Marylebone on his motorbike; and Sasha and Tom, putting some of our new Games range to the test as they race down Savile Row.
They’re people who have lived here all their lives, people just passing through, and people who’ve arrived from somewhere else and now call London home. Different stories, different corners of the city, but all part of the same London.
