Originally conceived in 1947 for the architect Le Corbusier, the Forestière jacket takes its cues from the traditional French gamekeeper’s coat. With its distinctive mandarin collar and utilitarian pockets, it has long been a favourite of the Left Bank intelligentsia and the free-thinking bobo set, prized for its balance of function and understated elegance.

Our version is cut from a robust Italian cotton corduroy, lined in a breathable cotton-linen blend for comfort. Faithful to the spirit of the original, we have refined the silhouette for a cleaner, more contemporary line, while retaining the jacket’s practical detailing: three generous patch-and-flap pockets, two internal pockets, and adjustable cuffs.

A piece with as much character as history, the Forestière is one of those rare garments that perfectly blurs the line between utility and elegance. Conceived as a uniform for the working architect, it is practical and functional, yet carries a certain intellectual poise, equally at home in the city as it is in the field.
