New Suede Shoes: The Canal Loafer

New Suede Shoes: The Canal Loafer

Now that we've had a few weeks to get our feet under the table in New York; a few loops around the five boroughs for some sightseeing, bodega runs and only the occasional honk from an irate taxi driver, we felt like now was the perfect time to present our latest signature loafer — a style that we've been meticulously honing over the last few months.

Inspired by, and named for, the Drake's Open Studio, our new shop and art space on Manhattan's happening Canal Street, the Canal loafer has been designed for daily wear with an eye towards complementing our extensive range of soft tailoring. Made in Italy from 100% premium suede with a rugged finish, think of is as a slightly beefed up, city-ready penny loafer (sans-beefroll), with moccasin-style stitching around the vamp and a hardy rubber crepe sole that's just waiting to pound a few downtown pavements. Comfortable from the very first wear, the Canal is finished with a unique elliptic slot in the saddle strap, which is where you can place that eponymous penny for a classic finish.

Worn with our corduroy Games suit on a crisp winter's day, it's the ideal shoe for the Big Apple and beyond, as shown aptly by the Drake's Open Studio NYC team below.

"HEY! I'm walkin' here!"... etc.
